Ombra Uno is a poetic walnut veneer, inspired by the way soft shadows fall across historic Italian interiors. This veneer begins with walnut that has been rested through two winters in cold-yard storage, allowing the tannins to deepen naturally and the grain to develop a subtle chiaroscuro effect.
The wood is then conditioned in warm humidity chambers, a traditional technique used in fine violin making to ease internal tensions and soften fibre transitions. This results in a veneer with a uniquely clouded, shadow-washed grain, refined but expressive.
The pigments used — adhering strictly to European eco-standards — are applied through a hand-polished diffusion process, allowing shadow tones to settle gently into the grain structure.
