Prior to fuming, the wood is conditioned with alternating heat cycles, a craft technique that relaxes internal stresses and encourages the walnut’s grain architecture to sharpen. Once sliced, the veneer reveals a beautiful close-to-wide grain modulation, creating a compelling rhythm across the sheet.
